“Receiving a grant from the foundation was an incredible blessing. … We cherish the opportunity to be the hands, feet and voice of Jesus in our community.”
- Pam Brown, outreach ministry chairperson, New Covenant United Methodist Church, The Villages
The foundation operates under the philosophy that we are called to be partners in ministry, and one way the foundation strives to be a good partner is through its grant program.
Each year, a portion of the foundation’s budget goes toward grants. Because the main sources of revenue are interest rates from loans and the modest fees churches pay the foundation to manage their investments in foundation funds, the amount available for grants fluctuates. Some grants are also supplemented through generous contributions from individuals.
The ultimate goal is providing ministries with the financial resources they need to transform the world.
There are several grant opportunities for churches, conference ministries and related agencies within and outside the Florida Conference.
The Future Generations Fund provides grants to programs and ministries that foster the spiritual growth and church leadership development of children, youth and young adults age 30 and younger. These grants are made possible through excess foundation revenues, but also donations from generous individuals and the Lockmiller Charitable Trust.
Programs may apply only once and priority will be given to new, emerging and innovative ministries that have the potential to reach new young people at the local church, agency, related institution or conference level.
(Ministries that have received previous emerging ministry grants are not eligible to apply.)
