Florida United Methodist Foundation Attends NAUMF Annual Meeting in Tucson, AZ

From October 28 – 31, 2024, representatives from the Florida United Methodist Foundation joined colleagues from across the country at the National Association of United Methodist Foundations’ (NAUMF) annual meeting in Tucson, AZ. The theme of this year’s gathering, Rising in Faith, emphasized collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective support for the ever-evolving work of United Methodist foundations.

The event featured focus groups tailored to the specific needs of different foundation roles, including Communications & Marketing, Stewardship and Learning, Planned Giving, CFOs/Controllers/Treasurers, and leadership for Presidents and Executive Directors. There was also an orientation session designed for those new to NAUMF, offering them valuable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities facing United Methodist foundations nationwide.

Gathering together in Tucson was a visible and powerful testament to our denomination’s connectional system. The work accomplished by these foundations will not only support local ministries but also strengthen Christ’s universal church.

“Our time in Tucson was invaluable,” shared Ed New, President & CEO of the Florida United Methodist Foundation. “Stepping away from the day-to-day operations to glean wisdom from colleagues in other areas and environments is always refreshing. It’s an opportunity to celebrate each other’s victories and support one another through challenges. Being surrounded by such a diverse group of leaders helped to renew our shared commitment to rising in faith and continuing our mission.”

The Florida United Methodist Foundation remains committed to collaborating with fellow foundations to support and empower the growth of Christian ministry, knowing that by working together, we can continue to serve and uplift communities across the country.
