The last couple of years have been challenging, as they have been for many churches, but with the help of the Foundation, we are now optimistic about our future and what we can do to serve our community. Our goals are to be a gathering place for the community, raise up the next generation of the church, and care for those in need—both near and far.
Our preschool began its 47th consecutive year, and it not only helps prepare children for school but is also a blessing to our congregation to see so many young, happy faces on campus. Members created the Foster to Foster program to assist foster parents with their needs in caring for children in the county, and the program now serves over 380 families annually.
The community has also embraced our Pack-A-Sack program, which provides over 3,000 meals to needy children each year. Our Scouts, with over 70 active members in our troops, regularly engage in service projects, such as Pop the Trunk food collections, campus clean-up days, and impactful Eagle Scout projects, all of which help care for the community.
Heritage’s Pumpkin Patch and Drive-Through Nativity have become beloved traditions that the community looks forward to each year, earning us the nickname, “The Pumpkin Church.”
Our worship services, both Modern and Traditional, provide a variety of meaningful opportunities for connection. Combined Music Sundays are especially moving, as they showcase the immense talent of our musicians and vocalists in a truly beautiful way. As we begin 2025, we are planning new ways to expand our Gathering, Growing, and Loving programs and to continue making and growing disciples. Challenges undoubtedly lie ahead, but overcoming past difficulties has made us stronger and more trusting in God’s provision. By asking for His help and listening to His voice, Heritage is ready to move boldly into the future.
