Grace and peace to you from First United Methodist Church of St. Augustine! This year marks a remarkable milestone for our congregation, 200 years of continuous ministry in the nation’s oldest city. As we celebrate our bicentennial, we give deep thanks for all that God has done through our church and for partners like the Foundation who have helped sustain and strengthen our mission over the years.
Throughout our history, First UMC has sought to be a beacon of Christ’s love in our community. One of our most vital ministries today is our daily outreach to our unhoused neighbors. Each day, we provide sack lunches, clothing, and essential hygiene items to those in need, offering not just physical care, but compassion, dignity, and worth. This ministry has grown significantly in recent years, and we are grateful that, through God’s grace and faithful support, we are able to meet real and immediate needs right here in our city.
We are also deeply committed to serving children and youth, helping to shape the next generation with love, faith, and hope. From Sunday School and youth group gatherings to mission trips and leadership development, we have worked to create a church home where young people can grow in their relationship with Christ and discover their God-given gifts.
The Florida United Methodist Foundation has been a vital partner in helping us live out this calling. Your guidance and support have strengthened our endowment and helped us develop long-term funds that continue to bear fruit. Your partnership has been a true blessing, and we are so grateful for the ways you have helped equip our church to thrive in ministry not just for today, but for the next 200 years.
