We have enjoyed participating in the Florida United Methodist Foundation for many years. It began when we were serving our first churches and has continued into our retirement years. We have appreciated several things about the Foundation. First, it helps local churches in Florida by enabling them to take out a loan when they have a building or renovation project. One of the churches I serve applied for and received a loan to help fund a renovation project.
Secondly, it provides a place to invest one’s savings and pays a good rate of interest. It allows you to build up your investment in a safe and secure environment.
Thirdly, it is easy to make a deposit or a withdrawal on your account whenever necessary. This can be done in person, through the mail, or online.
In one of the churches we served, a lay person invested a significant amount in the Foundation. Following her death, she had designated that the funds were to provide scholarships and to help with other projects in the Conference. We strongly believe in the Foundation and the excellent work it is doing.
