R-10 Gathering Draws Largest Attendance in a Decade

The Florida United Methodist Foundation’s recent R-10 event welcomed its largest crowd in a decade, bringing together clergy and spouses within approximately ten years of retirement for two days of learning, encouragement, and preparation.

Held September 21–22, the gathering covered Medicare, Social Security, Wespath retirement benefits, staying healthy, taxes, long-term care insurance, and many other topics. Participants had an opportunity to consider the decisions ahead and how thoughtful planning today can support a fulfilling retirement.

For clergy who have devoted years to caring for congregations and communities, R-10 offers time to focus on their own future. Alongside practical information, the gathering provides space for fellowship with colleagues navigating similar questions about life’s next chapter.

The Foundation is grateful for all who participated and for their faithful service to the church. Helping clergy prepare for a well-earned retirement is one more way we live out our mission of supporting and empowering the growth of Christian ministry.
